About

The Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Committee at our Law College is constituted in accordance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. The Committee is dedicated to creating and maintaining a safe, inclusive, and respectful academic environment for all students, faculty, and staff.

As an institution committed to justice and equality, especially in the field of legal education, the college upholds zero tolerance towards any form of sexual harassment. The Committee works proactively to prevent incidents through awareness, education, and sensitization, while also ensuring a fair and confidential mechanism for addressing complaints with integrity and sensitivity.

The Committee comprises trained faculty members and external experts, and ensures due process, impartiality, and protection of the rights of all parties involved.

Objectives

  1. To comply with the provisions of the Sexual Harassment at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.
  2. To ensure a safe, respectful, and discrimination-free environment for all members of the college community, irrespective of gender, orientation, or background.
  3. To prevent incidents of sexual harassment through regular awareness programs, workshops, and sensitization campaigns.
  4. To provide a clear, confidential, and accessible mechanism for lodging and redressing complaints related to sexual harassment.
  5. To conduct fair, unbiased, and prompt inquiry procedures in accordance with principles of natural justice and legal guidelines.
  6. To promote a culture of respect, dignity, and mutual consent within the academic and co-curricular spaces of the college.
  7. To advise and support the administration in framing and implementing policies related to gender justice and campus safety.
