QUICK LINKS
- The coursework is for 16 credits.
- Contents of Course 1 and Course 3 shall be prescribed by the respective Board of Studies.
- The recognized research center, based on the recommendations of the Research Advisory Committee, shall prescribe courses for the Ph.D. scholar, including research methodology and two subject-specific advanced courses, to be completed within two years of registration.
- A course on Publication Ethics must be completed within two years from the date of registration by the Ph.D. scholar.
- Candidates with an M.Phil. degree from SPPU who are admitted to the Ph.D. program, or those who have completed M.Phil. coursework and are permitted to proceed to a Ph.D., will be exempt from Ph.D. coursework, provided both programs are in the same subject.
- If the M.Phil. and Ph.D. programs are in different subjects, the candidate must complete Courses 2, 3, and 5 as specified, as per University Circular No. 07/2025 Reference Number PGS/87 dated 9th January 2025.
- All other candidates admitted to the Ph.D. program are required to complete the coursework approved by the Academic Council of SPPU, achieving a minimum of 55% marks or its equivalent grade on the UGC 10-point scale, within the first two years of registration.
- Candidates will be permitted to continue with their Ph.D. studies and submit the thesis only after fulfilling these requirements.
- Grades in the coursework, including research methodology courses, shall be finalized after a combined assessment by the Research Advisory Committee and the Place of Research, and the final grades shall be communicated to the P. G. Admission Section of the SPPU.
- All Ph.D. scholars, irrespective of discipline, shall be required to train in teaching / education / pedagogy / writing related to their chosen Ph.D. subject during their doctoral period.
- Ph.D. scholars may also be assigned 4-6 hours per week of teaching/research assistantship for conducting tutorial or laboratory work and evaluations.
- The Research Advisory Committee can also recommend online/offline courses offered by UGC/National Agency/MOOCs/SWAYAM/NPTEL, etc., of 4 Credits each as part of the credit requirements for the Ph.D. program.

CESA Inauguration
The Civil Engineering students association of Civil Engg Dept. for academic year 2015-16 was inaugurated on 21/01/2016 by Hon’ Principal Dr. P M Patil. The HOD of Civil Engineering Dept Prof. S.S Deshmukh, Staff Advisor OF CESA Prof. D.K. Chaudhari, Students President of CESA Mr. Sachidananad Pawar and all Staff members and committee members are present on the occasion.
Pranayam Rahasya
On 5th of Feb 2016 a workshop & guideline program for all students and staff of Civil Engg Dept was organized by CESA, the chief guest and speaker of function was Mr. M.N. Lokhande Who is well known personality in the field of Yoga for daily life (Patanjali Yogapit), Dr. P.M. patil, Prof S.S. Mulik (Dean Academics & HOD Mech Engg), Prof S.S Deshmukh (HOD Civil), Prof. P.P Mone(HOD App Sci) , Dr. N.J Sathe. & all Faculty of Civil Engg was present.
Cancer, HIV Awareness & women empowerment programme
On 4th of Feb 2016 a workshop was organized by the students of CESA committee and Adarsha trust on the awareness of cancer and HIV. Dr. Rohan Badve Cancer Specialist, Prof. of Medicine Department Sasoon Hospital, Pune and Dr. Rahul Mahazan Prof of B.J.Medical college Pne were the main speaker on that program. A special talk was given by member of adarsh trust on women empowerment.
IIT Bombay Championship
This is a technical event organized in IITB sponsored by MHRD. The CIVIL engineering students are participated in this event got practical knowledge and acquired various positions.
Jalyukta Shivar
The faculties of Civil Engineering Department Mr. Satish S. Deshmukh, Mr. kudale, Mr. Pravin Manatkar are appointed as a third party evaluation agency by Govt. of Maharashtra to inspect the construction sites in Purandar, Haveli Taluka of Pune. They have submitted the report successfully on time to Govt of Maharashtra.
Blood Donation Camp
The Civil Engineering students association of Trinity Academy of Engg arranged blood donation camp on 22-02-2016, inaugurated by hon.’ Vice president Mr. Vinod Jadhav, Director KJEI Dr. Abhyankar. Principal TAE Dr. P. M.Patil. 34 students of CESA was donated blood on that occasion.
